Hi Debbie, its interesting to hear about different cultures and systems approach to seasonal flu. I wonder if its become more strict with Covid?

Sending prayers and best wishes to you and all your family. When I was around 16 my Dad had a quintuple bypass. He had a lot of heart issues (ironic given he was a doctor). It's amazing what can be done these days. Take care xo

Yes, I imagine covid had an impact on how the flu was handled, it certainly changed things in Australia. I'm sure Japan was the same.

Amazing that your dad got through when needing a qunituple bypass 😱 that's crazy! How did the body keep going?!!

This was in the 1980s, his mother's side had bad history of heart disease. He couldn't walk far and had a lot of issues back then...these kinds of bypass weren't 'routine' back then. They took a vein from his leg to facilitate the bypass (sorry perhaps TMI!). He loved rich foods so his arteries 'furred' up. These days heart issues can be monitored and better controlled/managed than before. It's good to hear your Dad's in general good health and is being monitored.

Wow! That's incredible that it was back in the 80's!! Yes, my dad had a vein taken from his leg too. Crazily enough, after surgery his leg hurt more than his chest 😂
